Examine how the parts of an e-cigarette work together to create the ultimate vaping experience

Non-smokers often misunderstand vaping and e-cigarettes, and many vapers are all too familiar with the negative reaction they sometimes receive. Many non-smokers believe that because e-cigarettes look very similar to cigarettes, they must be just as bad for your health. This sentiment, though misguided, explains why some people remain resistant to vaping in public and why e-cig bans continue to pop up all around the country.

However, as any vaper who knows the truth about e-cigarettes will realize, these negative beliefs generally stem from misinformation and a lack of understanding of how a vaporizer works. As the saying goes, people fear what they don't understand.

One historical example of the power of misinformation and misunderstanding is the train. When the world's first railway opened in 1825, the initial reaction was horror. Many people believed that the human body wasn't made to travel at the seemingly incredible speed of 30mph. In fact, some thought moving that fast could result in a grisly death. So, although horse carriage-related deaths were a common occurrence, trains were initially avoided because they were considered dangerous.

But as the general public began to understand how trains work and people experienced train rides for themselves, the superstitions surrounding the new technology gradually faded into the past. Nowadays, most of us drive over 30mph on a daily basis in our cars, and some humans even fly jets that travel faster than the speed of sound.

Today, vaping is experiencing a similar situation fueled by the power of misconception. At VaporFi, as vaping advocates and connoisseurs, we believe that the best way to clear the smoke surrounding e-cigarettes and vaporizers is to spread awareness about how the technology works.

To help accomplish this, we’ve taken one of our advanced personal vaporizers and broken it down, piece by piece, to show how it works to create the ultimate vaping experience.

Battery

Every e-cigarette and vape mod contains a battery, which powers the device and allows all other parts to operate smoothly. Lithium-ion batteries power most e-cigarettes because they are rechargeable, which reduces the cost and hassle for vapers. There are two types of battery options: manual and automatic. (Click here to find out which is best for you.)

Some devices contain more than one battery, which increase the power capabilities and can bring your vape experience to the next level. One such example is our popular VaporFi V-Grip 220 TC MOD, which contains two 18650 batteries and boasts a powerful supply.

Atomizer

The battery connects to the atomizer – the part of the e-cigarette that turns nicotine liquid into vapor. This process takes place through a heating coil within the atomizer that is put in contact with the vape juice. Heat causes vaporization to occur and voilà—deliciously flavored vapor is made!

Tank

Moving closer towards the tip of your vaporizer, you'll find the tank. This is where the e-liquid is stored before vaporization and where the new liquid is refilled. In disposable devices, this part may be called the cartridge. Many devices combine the cartridge and the atomizer into one component, known as a cartomizer.

Clearomizers are a type of cartomizer designed with a transparent body to make it easy to tell when it is time to refill your vape juice.

Mouthpiece

Lastly, every e-cigarette vaporizer has a mouthpiece or tip. The purpose of the mouthpiece is to funnel vapor from the atomizer into your mouth. The tip is where you place your lips and inhale to get a satisfying draw of flavored vapor. Not all e-cigarettes have recognizable mouthpieces though, as their style can vary widely from one device to the next. Lastly, every e-cigarette vaporizer has a mouthpiece or tip. You’ll find a variety of mouthpiece shapes and sizes. From the contoured shape of the VaporFi VAIO GO All-In-One Pen to the slim design of the VaporFi Air 2 Mini Vaporizer, you have a range of options to find something that is comfortable for you.

In addition to these essential components, there are plenty of other e-cigarette accessories that you can use to customize and calibrate your vaping experience. Now that you’ve learned more about how your vaporizer works, you can provide a helpful lesson for the next person who has an adverse reaction to your vaping.
