VaporFi Australia - How to Clean a Vape Tank

One of the great things about vaping is that you can buy larger tanks and all sorts of other modifications that make it a unique and highly personalised experience. But if you plan on using all of this technology, you need to keep it in good working order and clean it and charge it regularly. For some people, this might seem like a huge hassle, but getting into the habit of maintaining your equipment isn’t difficult, and it will certainly benefit you in the long run.

Here at VaporFi, one of the most common questions we get is how to properly clean a vape tank. Even though we source the best products from the most trustworthy suppliers, we always recommend cleaning your vape tank even before you install and use it for the first time. Apart from being good practice, new vape tanks may contain contaminants like oil, lubricant or metal shavings from the factory floor. We’d guess the last thing you want is the taste of machine oil mixed with your favourite vape juice!

Apart from always thoroughly cleaning out a new vape tank, you should also do it when switching to another e-liquid flavour. Even though your tank is one of the most important parts of your electronic cigarette, you should not be afraid to take it apart and clean it.

3 Vape Tank Cleaning Steps

Using some common sense, this is not a difficult job, and you’ll soon get used to doing it.

With this in mind, here is how it should be done:

#1 Remove the tank

The first thing you should do is carefully unscrew the tank from the battery section of your vaping device. If there is any e-liquid inside it, simply dispose of it thoughtfully.

#2 Disassembly

Vape tanks come in a range of shapes and sizes, but they all do the same thing. Carefully disassemble the unit so the O-rings are separated.

#3 Cleaning

If you are cleaning out a tank right off the factory floor, we recommend submerging the tank in a solution of isopropyl alcohol, which can be found at many chemists and pharmacies. This will remove any machine oil. If you have already done this and just want to clean the old juice out of your tank, simple rinse it out with a little clean water. The other thing you should do at this time is clean the battery carefully, but don’t submerge it in any e-liquid!

Bonus Tip for All Vapers!

It’s always good practice to clean your vape tank at regular intervals, but we recommend having a few extra tanks on hand. This means that you easily can switch flavours when out on the road at any time without having to wash and clean! If you want more information, we’re always happy to help here at VaporFi.
